2018: A Year in Pictures

19/12/2018

The beautiful rill and naturalistic planting at our Clifton project, gained us national recognition after being nominated for The Association of Professional Landscapers Awards ceremony 2019.

The installation of the Cor-ten, concrete retaining blocks and sandstone steps at our Long Ashton project earlier this year, has been our most challenging process to date. This part of the project called for meticulous attention to detail and highly skilled workmanship but the result was worth it!

2018 saw Artisan’s Will and Jamie feature in Bristol Life magazine twice; first in March for the Q&A and then glamorous cover stars in June’s issue where they discussed all things gardening, horticulture and improving your life through plants. Well done boys!

This picture of Kebony fencing teamed with the deep green shades of wisteria at our Long Ashton project beautifully conveys how the use of planting and expertly sourced materials can add rich colour and texture to a garden. This duo is one of our faves from 2018!

On one of the hottest, sweatiest days of 2018, Will visited RHS Hampton Court Flower Show to discover the delights of gardening royalty and horticultural hero Piet Oudolf, fellow Landscape Design & Build company Rosebank Landscaping and acclaimed garden designer Tom Simpson. It was a great day, made even better by England beating Sweden 2-0 in the World Cup Quarter-finals.

During the summer months, Artisan commissioned photographer, Finn P, to perfectly capture our projects for our brand new website. This picture of our Clifton project was taken at 11.30pm and perfectly displays how the use of lighting can completely transform a garden.

In September, the Lord Mayor of Bristol attended a private ceremony to open the Hodgkin House garden built by Artisan and designed by Jason Loh. It was a very proud moment for the whole team!
